Levulo Labs was started in the UK by George and Louis. No pharma company, no licensing deal, no agency. Two people who'd spent years buying supplements and could never work out what was actually in them.

George's Story

I've lived and worked in over fifty countries, running my business from whatever desk, kitchen table or airport lounge I could find.

My health thing started like most people's. I bought a Fitbit, started tracking sleep and exercise, and tried to be a bit better each day. It didn't take long to work out I'd been guessing at something I could actually measure.

The turning point was falling ill while I was abroad. Being sick was bad enough. The months after were worse, never quite knowing if something was wrong or if I was overthinking it. I just wanted to feel normal again.

So I got serious about sleep, food and training, and read far more supplement research than was good for me. Most of what helped, helped slowly, and for fairly boring reasons.

What stuck with me was that I could never really be sure about any of it. The numbers are on the pack, but nothing tells you the pack is right. You're trusting that someone weighed it out properly, and after a while I stopped wanting to.

Louis's Story

I'm Louis. Father of two, running a business in the North of England, and the days don't really stop.

I didn't take my health seriously until I was 26. Nights out, junk food, the odd workout. Then my first girl was born and that was that. I wanted to be reliable for her and stick around a long time.

Boxing became my outlet. Four or five times a week, punching, sparring, conditioning. After four years the repeated head knocks brought on chronic migraines, so I swapped the ring for runs and low-impact cardio.

Cutting the boxing helped. What didn't change was how I felt on the days the work never stopped, and that's when I started paying more attention to what I was putting in.

The supplements are where I lost patience. Big promises on the front, small print on the back, and no real way of knowing whether what was written down was what was actually in there. It stopped feeling like a purchase and started feeling like a bet.

How it started

We started with
the boring one

We could have picked something easier to sell.

Sleep is a bigger market. Performance takes better photos. We started with Foundation because it's the one the others sit on top of, and because it was the thing we'd both been trying to buy and couldn't find.

Formulas

It took about a year from the first conversation up to the first pouches being ready to ship. The manufacturer part was easy, we got lucky and the first one we spoke to was the right one. We went through a lot of trials on the ingredients, then on the consistency, then on the packaging, before we landed on a formula and a taste we loved.
